New River Gorge Diversity in Climbing Grant
NRAC, alongside Climbing for Change, offers the Diversity in Climbing Grant as a way to support recipients in local or regional DEI work in climbing to broaden the potential local impact, with a total of $2,000 available to be distributed . Applicants will submit their project ideas, along with an estimated amount of money needed to make it happen. Based on the number of project proposals and the distribution of costs, there could be more or less than two recipients.
When planning and estimating the budget of your proposal, please keep in mind that, while it is possible for the full amount of $2,000 to be awarded to one individual, it is more likely that the funds will end up being distributed among multiple projects/proposals.
Some examples of projects/proposals that would qualify for the Diversity in Climbing grant include:
* A certification (like AMGA SPI)
* Educational training
* Affinity group outing/meet-up
* BIPOC-led event
* Photo/video project
* Start-up (or other) costs for non-profit work, or a BIPOC-owned climbing-related business
NRG Diversity in Climbing grants will be awarded July 2025.
